Phone Illustrations

So for my Design for Illustration class my professor had us all pull a trigger word from a hat.  I got the word "phone."  The assignment was to design four spot illustrations using our specific word as the subject.  These are three of the four that I came up with:

Here is an illustration of what happened when I went jogging with my two boston terriers, Spud (left) and Dewey (right). 

The worst part is that I tripped and fell right as a car went by, so the lady turned her car around to come back to see if I was alright! How embarrassing! ....*sigh* so uncoordinated...

Summer Memories

Here are a couple of edited sketches based on childhood summer memories. :]

"Ink Blot" Sketches

This is a creativity boosting exercise that I learned from a friend.  First, I free-style painted irregular shapes on one page of my sketchbook and while the paint was still wet i closed it so that the shapes mirrored on the opposite page (created an "ink blot"). Then, I looked at the strange blobs of color and picked out forms that I saw and drew them in with colored pencil.  This is a great way to keep your creativity sharp, especially during the summer! I encourage everyone to try one! :]
